An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Partner to join the highly regarded Private Clients practice of a leading Big 4 professional services firm in Parramatta.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within one of Australia’s largest Private Clients practices, working with privately owned businesses, significant family groups, high-net-worth clients and growing private companies across a diverse range of industries.
The role combines the leadership and development of a substantial audit portfolio with senior client relationship management, business development, technical oversight and the opportunity to work alongside experienced Partners and specialists across a major national Private Clients practice.
The Role
As an Audit Partner within the Private Clients practice, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading audit and assurance engagements for privately owned businesses, family groups and other significant private clients
- Managing and developing a portfolio of substantial audit clients across a diverse range of industries
- Acting as a trusted adviser to business owners, boards, executives, CFOs and other senior stakeholders
- Taking overall responsibility for audit quality, technical standards, risk management and client delivery
- Providing senior-level guidance on complex accounting, financial reporting and audit matters
- Understanding clients’ businesses, ownership structures, strategic objectives and broader commercial requirements
- Developing strong and enduring relationships with existing clients
- Identifying opportunities to develop new audit and assurance relationships
- Leading business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Private Clients practice
- Developing relationships with privately owned businesses, family groups and other participants within the private market
- Working collaboratively with Private Clients Tax, Deals and other specialists to provide clients with access to broader expertise where appropriate
- Leading, coaching and developing Directors, Senior Managers, Managers and other audit professionals
- Building high-performing teams and contributing to the development of future leaders within the practice
- Contributing to the broader strategic direction and growth of the Private Clients business
About You
The position would suit an established Audit Partner from another Big 4 accounting firm or leading Mid-tier accounting firm
Requirements for the Partner position include:
- Extensive external audit and assurance experience within a Big 4, mid-tier or other leading accounting firm
- Significant experience advising privately owned businesses, family groups and/or other substantial private clients.
- Strong record for winning new client work and growing a portfolio of high value clients.
- RCA qualified.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian auditing and financial reporting requirements
- Experience leading complex audit engagements and substantial client portfolios
- A strong understanding of the commercial issues facing privately owned and growing businesses
- Established relationships with business owners, boards, CFOs and senior executives
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted senior client relationships
- Strong business development and client origination capability
- The ability to identify and convert new market opportunities
- Experience managing audit quality, engagement risk and commercial outcomes
- Strong leadership capability and experience building and developing high-performing teams
- Experience coaching and developing senior audit professionals
- Excellent written, verbal and senior stakeholder communication skills
- The commercial judgement and presence required to operate effectively at Partner level
