We are working with a highly regarded boutique accounting firm in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs that is seeking an experienced Business Advisory Senior Accountant to join their growing team. Lead your own client portfolio and be more than just a number in this unique opportunity to step beyond pure compliance and take true ownership of client relationships in an Account Manager-style role.

The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will act as the primary point of contact for your clients, delivering high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services while building strong, long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients
Build trusted relationships as the main client contact
Provide proactive advice, identifying risks and opportunities
Ensure all work is delivered accurately and on time
Accounting & Compliance
Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting and tax regulations
Review junior staff work and provide guidance
Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
Advisory Focus
Deliver practical, commercially focused business advice
Identify opportunities to improve client performance
Assist with value-added advisory projects
Team Contribution
Support workflow management and team efficiency
Mentor junior team members
Contribute to a positive and professional firm culture
About You
Essential:
Experience in public practice accounting
Proven ability to manage your own client portfolio
Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
Desirable:
Experience working with Australian SME’s
Exposure to advisory services
Qualifications:
CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
Relevant degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
