Role Overview Taggart & Partners is seeking a Business Advisory & Tax Accountant to join our boutique firm in Brisbane CBD. This role combines technical tax compliance with business advisory responsibilities, working closely with a diverse portfolio of clients to deliver tailored solutions that support their growth and compliance needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review taxation returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, companies and BAS/IAS as required.

  • Deliver business advisory services including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, management reporting and performance analysis.

  • Provide proactive tax planning and structuring advice to minimise liabilities and support client objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.

  • Liaise with clients, ATO and external stakeholders to resolve tax and compliance matters.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and year-end processes in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Mentor and support junior staff; contribute to continuous improvement of firm processes and client service offerings.

  • Stay up to date with tax legislation and regulatory changes and communicate implications to clients.

About You

  • Qualified or near-qualified CA/CPA accountant with solid experience in tax compliance and advisory.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation (individuals, trusts, companies, and GST/BAS).

  • Proven experience in business advisory services, including budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.

  • Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced boutique environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High attention to detail and professional integrity.
