We are working with a leading global firm to find a Private Client Tax Director to join their team in Brisbane CBD, advising some of Queensland’s largest and most complex privately owned businesses.
This is a senior advisory role offering exposure to sophisticated tax matters, major transactions and complex private groups, while working alongside one of Brisbane’s leading Private Client Tax Partners who manages a circa $6M fee base.
The Role
You will advise large privately owned businesses, corporate-sized private groups and subsidiaries of multinational organisations on complex Australian and international tax matters.
Your work will include:
Advising on tax structuring and restructuring of large and complex private groups.
Providing tax advice on transactions, acquisitions, disposals and capital investments.
Advising on financing and funding arrangements, including the tax implications of major investments.
Providing advice on joint ventures, business reorganisations and changes to ownership structures.
Advising on broader corporate and private business tax issues affecting complex organisations and their shareholders.
Supporting clients through ATO reviews, audits, negotiations and disputes.
Working directly with business owners, Boards, CFOs and senior executives on commercially significant tax matters.
Leading engagements from scoping and technical analysis through to drafting, review, sign-off and presentation to clients.
Developing and mentoring team members while contributing to client relationship management and business development.
About You
You will be an experienced tax professional with a strong technical background in Private Client, Private Business or Corporate Tax, ideally gained within a Big 4, mid-tier or other leading professional services firm.
You will have experience advising large and complex privately owned groups rather than predominantly small-business clients, with the ability to independently manage sophisticated tax advisory engagements and senior client relationships.
The Opportunity
Work alongside one of Brisbane’s leading Private Client Tax Partners, managing a circa $6M client portfolio.
Advise substantial private businesses on complex, high-value tax matters and transactions.
Significant exposure to structuring, restructuring, investments, financing and ATO matters.
Strong career progression within a leading Private Client practice.
Collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Director remuneration circa $200K–$275K + bonus, subject to experience and performance.
Path to partner for ambitious directors, subject to experience and performance.
