Valuations Director or Partner with a Real Estate Focus, Leading accounting firm, Sydney or Melbourne

The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially driven Valuations Director or Partner to join a leading Deals / Advisory practice, with a core focus on real estate and infrastructure assets.

This is not a pure technical valuation role. You will operate at the intersection of valuations, transactions, and strategic advisory, acting as a trusted advisor on complex, high-profile deals while originating and leading client mandates.

You will make a significant contribution towards the firm’s real estate valuations and advisory capability, working closely with Deals, Audit, and Tax teams, and playing a key role in shaping the firm’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and originate complex engagements across real estate valuation and transaction advisory
  • Deliver valuation and strategic advice across a range of asset classes, including:
    • Office
    • Industrial & logistics
    • Data centres
    • Healthcare / living sectors (e.g. aged care, retirement living, hospitals)
    • Infrastructure and alternative assets (including energy / renewables)
  • Provide commercial and technical input across:
    • Transaction advisory (buy-side / sell-side due diligence)
    • Financial reporting valuations (IFRS / AASB fair value)
    • Purchase price allocations (PPA)
    • Tax and restructuring valuations
  • Act as a real estate specialist within Deals, supporting large-scale transactions and complex structuring decisions
  • Serve as a valuation expert in audit engagements, reviewing third-party valuations, methodologies, and key assumptions
  • Own and grow senior client relationships across REITs, institutional investors, private equity, developers, and government
  • Drive revenue and pipeline development, identifying and converting new opportunities within existing and new clients
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team, including onshore and offshore resources
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on large, complex mandates

About You

  • 15+ years’ experience in real estate valuations and advisory, ideally within a Big 4, global advisory firm, or leading consultancy
  • Strong background in both valuations and transaction advisory, with exposure to:
    • Financial due diligence
    • Deal execution
    • Commercial structuring
  • Deep expertise across commercial real estate and infrastructure, with exposure to alternative sectors (e.g. healthcare, energy, data centres)
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Leading and originating client engagements
    • Building and scaling revenue streams or practice areas
    • Acting as a trusted advisor on complex, high-value transactions
  • Strong technical grounding in valuation methodologies (DCF, capitalisation, etc.), with the ability to apply them in a commercial, deal-driven context
  • Experience working alongside audit teams as a valuation specialist
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at C-suite and investor level
  • Relevant qualifications such as API (CPV), CA, CFA, RICS or equivalent
